Niteworks conducts Warfighting Experimentation (WFE) in order to provide objective evidence to support real interventions into ongoing UK MOD programmes, addressing problems in the areas of Concept, Capability and Warfare Development. WFE enables Niteworks to deliver sound supporting evidence to MOD decision-makers in support of developing military capability or reducing operational risk. It is an essential component in the delivery of NEC.
What is Warfighting Experimentation
The UK definition of WFE is:
Joint Service Publication 816, Warfighting Experimentation"A subset of Operational Analysis (OA) Experimentation that involves the participation of military personnel, in an appropriate operational role, in an environment which allows all Defence Lines of Development to be considered."
Operational Analysis
Operational Analysis is undertaken in defence capability development to assist decision-makers in understanding the complexity of developments of concepts and capabilities. OA encompasses modelling, historical analysis and experimentation, including Warfighting Experimentation.
