The Partnership

Sponsoring Niteworks activities

Each Niteworks project or activity is driven by a question posed by an MOD customer. These include central MOD staff, DE&S project teams, Dstl or Front Line Commands. The work undertaken by Niteworks is tailored to the specific requirements of the MOD Sponsor, involving military personnel in current operational roles alongside Niteworks staff in order to deliver strong, evidenced and impartial recommendations.

Niteworks operates using a mixed funding model. In simple terms, this means that it receives core funding from the MOD budget, which is supplemented by funding from individual MOD customers who require Niteworks to undertake projects on their behalf.

Niteworks’ core funding is provided by MOD’s capability area for Joint Training, Evaluation and Simulation (Cap JTES) and managed through the DE&S Systems Engineering and Integration Group (SEIG) whose staff work alongside the industry, Dstl and military advisers in Farnborough. The SEIG staff can be contacted for advice on the tasking of Niteworks and management of its day-to-day activities. The military staff ensure that Niteworks projects and activities are informed by the latest military subject matter expertise and recent operational experience, whilst Dstl staff ensure coherence with related work elsewhere in the MOD.
